Questions before you download

Is EVDC really free?

Yes. The app is free to download, with no subscription and no monthly fee. You only pay per kWh for the charging you do.

How can the same charger cost less?

You plug into the same charger, but pay EVDC's price per kWh instead of the network's own pay-as-you-go price. The app shows the price before you start, so you always decide.

Will it work at the chargers I already use?

EVDC connects to partner networks. In Germany that includes Vattenfall, Reev, Qwello, Pfalzwerke, MAINGAU, Mennekes, Spirii, IONITY, E.ON Drive, Elli, Grid & Co, Chargecloud, EWE Go, LichtBlick and enercity. Check the map in the app for chargers near you before you drive.

Why is there a €35 hold?

It's a temporary reservation on your card, like at a petrol pump. When the session ends you pay for the energy used and the hold is released. Prefer no hold? Pay from your in-app balance instead (you need at least €35 in it to start a charge). If a final card payment fails, a €2.89 processing fee may apply; full terms are in the app.

Do I need an RFID card?

No. You start every session from the app. An EVDC RFID card is available as an optional extra.

What if something goes wrong during a charge?

Contact EVDC support from the app or at support@evdc.network.
